I've been keeping Tropical fish now for almost two years and I've had some good luck with them. They're rather easy to take care of and so far, most have not died. :)
I started in Summer '06 with a 10 gallon tank with gravel and 10 Harlequins with a Plecostomus. I've graduated up to the current 30 gallon tank with sand and it works very well.
This tank currently houses 23 Harlequin Rasboras, 4 Tiger Barbs and 1 giant (for this sized tank) Plecostomus. The Pleco keeps the tank clean of brown algae but leaves a lot of poop behind. I do have to scrape the sides every once in a while to get the hard green algae off.
I've only had 3 Harlequins dissappear (I have no idea where they went). I just put the Tiger Barbs in today (5/4/2008), so we'll see how they do.

The last picture looks like the fish is spitting out it's guts, but it's just chomping down on a yummy Bloodworm. Bloodworms sure make the red in their fins stand out a lot!
When I get a better way to use my off-camera flash, I'll post some better pictures of my Tropical Fish. Until then, thanks for visiting and check back soon!
